Devin B. Fields
Psychologist
PsyD

When meeting children and families, I love to begin by learning about their goals, values, and what feels most important for them to address during our visits. I believe each person is the true expert of their own body and experience. My role is to support those goals with education, guidance, and practical skills. To me, that’s what success looks like. It is always an added bonus when we can bring joy and silliness to the space as well.
About me
Dr. Fields has always had a heart for working with kids. After earning her degree in psychology, she spent three years in Seattle as an Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapist, supporting children diagnosed with autism. She then went on to earn her PsyD at Pacific University, specializing in children and gender-diverse youth. Her training has taken her across the country, including an internship focused on child development at the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine in West Virginia, to a postdoctoral fellowship at Children’s Hospital Colorado, where she specialized in infant mental health and early child development.
Dr. Fields brings expertise in early development, neurodevelopmental disorders, gender-diverse youth, and mental health and behavioral concerns many children face. She is passionate about meeting each child where they are and helping families navigate challenges.
Dr. Fields cares for patients in our Portland office.
Interests
Dr. Fields is a big foodie! Her favorite types of food are all Asian cuisines, especially sushi, Indian, and Thai. She loves trying new foods and food trucks so if you have a recommendation, let her know!
Dr. Fields is also an avid reader. In fact, if Powells offered an apartment, she would live there. She has a broad range of reading tastes, but she most enjoys mystery, fantasy, and historical fiction.
As a dedicated advocate, you can always depend on Dr. Fields to use her voice and privilege to stand up for those who don’t have one.
Family
Although Dr. Fields is an only child, she is close with her big extended family that lives all over the world. Fun fact – her husband’s family has an alpaca farm in Washington! She, her husband, and toddler son love to travel. When they are at home, they enjoy spending time together making homemade pizzas.
Becoming a parent has been the best training experience for working with kids. She understands firsthand that you can learn all the things, try all the strategies, and still everyone is human and doing their best with what they have. And that’s ok!
