PANW’s Pharmacy Is Open: Getting Families the Meds They Need Now

PANW is excited to announce that we’re launching a small, limited in-house pharmacy designed to make treatment simpler, faster, and more transparent for families who prefer to pay out of pocket rather than go through insurance.

Our pharmacy adds yet another layer of family-focused wellness care to ease your family’s journey from diagnosis – to treatment – to healing!

PANW’s Pharmacy Is Open: Getting Families the Meds They Need Now

One of the most common frustrations we hear from families has nothing to do with the diagnosis—it’s what happens after the visit:

  • Long pharmacy lines.
  • Insurance denials.
  • Surprise copays.
  • Multiple trips across town for a medication your child needs now.

All of these can delay getting your child the medications they need as quickly as possible. Parents and caregivers have enough on their plates and don’t need the added hassle when it comes to commonly prescribed medications.

PANW’s Solution: a custom, in-house pharmacy designed to expedite your child’s recovery.

What PANW’s in-house pharmacy is—and what it isn’t

While it isn’t a full retail pharmacy (and we won’t be replacing your regular drugstore), our pharmacy offers focused selections of commonly prescribed pediatric medications, chosen for their safety, effectiveness, and frequent use on short notice.

PANW’s goal is always convenience and comprehensive care—not complexity.

What medications will be available?

Our in-house pharmacy will carry a limited list of treatments, including:

  • Common antibiotics for routine childhood infections like ear infections, strep throat, cellulitis, etc.
  • Anti-viral flu medications.
  • Swimmer’s ear treatments.
  • Pink eye (conjunctivitis) medications.
  • Topical treatments for common rashes.

These are the medications we prescribe daily, especially for conditions where starting treatment promptly can make a big difference in comfort and recovery.

Why offer an on-site pharmacy?

There are a few reasons we felt opening an on-site pharmacy was important:

  • Faster care: With urgent care visits available every day at PANW (weekends and holidays too!), your child can be seen by their provider and start treatment the same day, without an extra stop and wait at your local retail pharmacy. This can get sick kids home sooner to rest up and recover.
  • Transparent pricing: Cash pricing with no insurance processing means fewer surprises.
  • Less hassle: You don’t have to worry about prior authorizations, formulary confusion, or waiting to see if something is covered by your insurance.
  • Access: For families with high-deductible plans or no pharmacy coverage, this can be a simpler and more affordable option.

We always respect your choices

Making our in-house pharmacy available is just one more way we’re meeting families where they are.

Using our in-house pharmacy is completely optional. You’re always welcome to take a prescription to your pharmacy of choice.

Note: unfortunately, we cannot offer in-house pharmacy services to patients with Oregon Health Plan (OHP) insurance as the plan’s policies prevent us from charging patients directly for any services.

PANW’s Promise to Patients & Families

As always, medications will be prescribed because they are appropriate and necessary, not because they are available in-house. Nothing about our medical decision-making will change.

PANW’s priority remains exactly what it has always been: safe, thoughtful, evidence-based care for your children.

If you have questions about what’s available, pricing, or whether this option makes sense for your family, please don’t hesitate to contact us or ask about it at your next office visit. We’re happy to walk through it with you.

Thank you for trusting us with your child’s care—we don’t take that lightly. And, as always, please feel free to share your ideas on how PANW can make our services more accessible for you and our community.
