Nutrition is a primary component of growth, development and overall health. Developing positive nutrition habits in childhood sets the stage for a long and healthy life. All of our pediatricians and nurse practitioners have a great deal of knowledge and resources for you and your child regarding nutrition.
We have lactation consultants as part of our practice who are available as an extra resource for any questions or concerns you might have regarding breastfeeding. Jennifer J. Siebold, CPNP works in the Portland office, Winn Holly works in our Portland and Beaverton offices, and Katie Kennedy, RN, IBCLC works in our Tigard office.
Nearly one in three children today are overweight or obese. Overweight children have a greater likelihood of becoming overweight adults, a serious medical concern. Obesity can lead to early death from diabetes, heart disease, cancer and stroke. Our pediatricians and nurse practitioners want to work with your family to develop healthy nutrition and physical activity habits that improve childhood health and lead to a healthier and longer life. We also offer complimentary nutritional courses through our own Fresh Start program for expecting families.
Please contact your pediatrician or nurse practitioner to discuss your child’s nutrition and health. The links below provide helpful resources for nutrition information programs.
Please know that we are here for you every day and there is always a physician on call to assist you. We are always happy to answer any questions you have about your child’s health and well-being.
