Our History

Pediatric Associates was established in 1957 when Dr. John (Jack) L. Stevenson joined Dr. James P. Whittemore in his pediatric practice in Northwest Portland.  In 1962 they opened a second office becoming the first pediatric practice to serve the Lake Oswego area.  In 1964 the practice was joined by Dr. Robert A. Mendelson, and three years later Dr. James A. Brooks.

"Our practice has always focused on accessibility of providers, close relationships with patients and families and providing the highest standards of medical care to our patients."  says Dr. Mendelson.

Pediatric Associaties of the Northwest PC, as we are now called, has maintained this focus as we have served Portland and its surrounding communities for 50 years.

Our two clinic locations and 10 Board certified Pediatricians and 2 Pediatric Nurse Practitioners are committed to providing the very best healthcare and accessibility for the families that we serve.
