MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)

Dr. Rosenbloom and Dr. Odell meet the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers)
In January, a local MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) group invited Pediatric Associates of the Northwest to participate in a doctors' panel discussion with its members. Dr. Jay Rosenbloom and Dr. Shannon Odell presented parenting and health-related topics to the group of more than 85 mothers. The topics discussed included sleep habits of infants, potty training, and constipation, as well as managing strong-willed behaviors, early interventions for social and educational purposes, and how to facilitate a child's independence.
The response from the mothers who attended was overwhelmingly positive, with many asking questions throughout the presentation, and several staying afterwards to talk one-on-one with our providers.
In addition to connecting moms all over the world to a community of women in their own neighborhoods, MOPS strives to provide informative and educational presentations to its members (while children enjoy safe, supervised childcare). The doctors' panel was a perfect opportunity for the mothers to receive practical advice from a medical perspective. The event was such a success that Pediatric Associates has already been invited back for another MOPS educational presentation.
Pediatric Associates of the Northwest is pleased to be included in opportunities which allow the practice to give back, educate, and support parents in our community. The MOPS group provided an ideal setting for such a lively, worthwhile discussion (with no shortage of laughs).
