Immunizations

In Pediatrics, we feel that prevention of a disease is always better than having to treat that disease.   A straightforward example of disease prevention is immunizations.    As you bring your children in for their scheduled well child visits  (put link to schedule table page here) , they will receive all the immunizations that are appropriate  for their age. During the first two decades of your child's life, he/she will be protected against 13 diseases with a series of immunizations.

These diseases are:
Hepatitis B, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), Haemophilus influenzae
type b
(Hib, causes bacterial meningitis, and blood infections, etc.) Pneumococcus (causes pneumonia, meningitis, and blood infections), Infantile Paralysis (Polio), Measles, Mumps, Rubella (German Measles), Chicken Pox, Hepatitis A, Human Papilloma Virus (the most common cause of cervical cancer),

If you have any questions about these vaccines, please discuss them with your provider. Rest assured however, that all of our own children and grandchildren receive all of this protection at the earliest ages possible.
